10th July Opitua Wetland

Opitua wetland is all that is left of a 60 hectare salt water lake, you can walk round it in an hour, so not very much! There is a variety of wild life, some we recognised like the Canadian geese, mallards and white herons (although when viewed from a distance Geoff reliably informed me they looked like penguins) and others we weren’t so sure about.

and on the side of the path there were these cool spider cocoons.

The wetlands are adjacent to the South Pacific, so we had a look at that too!

Then quickly back to Lynn and Nick’s in time for the 4:30pm service.
