14th July London

Maddison has a Facebook account with which she keeps in touch with people whose lives she has passed through. One such person is Jodie Walters from St Helena who she went to school with and I taught!  Jodie’s family have since moved to Southampton so the girl’s decided to get together in London, meeting at the Tate Modern at 11 am.

Our journey involved a train from Hatfield to Finsbury Park and then the tube to St Pauls, so we could do some sight seeing of our own along the way. We managed to wander round the outside of St Pauls across the Millennium bridge to the Golden Hind, Southwark cathedral and London bridge, then back to the Tate for hot chocolate to ward off the cold and rain.

The Tate was an experience! I fully admit I do not understand art and some of the exhibits did nothing to help!

From here we headed to Oxford Street for lunch (McDonalds) at to wander the shops. Geoff and I  managed to do both sides while Maddy and the Walters did one side before we all stopped in different Starbucks for refreshments. Then it was time to head for our respective homes! There was a small flood in Hatfield to make me smile when we got back.
